Do I need to book in advance?
Yes! We advise that all bookings are made in advance to avoid disappointment.
Do I need to pay in advance?
Yes please. We require full payment for all activities. Bookings are not confirmed until full payment is made.
What happens if I want to cancel my booking?
We operate a 14 day cancellation policy for full refunds. Cancellations made more than 72 hours in advance are entitled date reschedule or, a 50% refund. For full details, please see cancellation policy.
What happens in bad weather?
Activities go ahead in almost all weathers here at CWS - you are going to get wet anyway! In the rare case of a lightning storm or severe winds, activities will be momentarily postned, or re-arranged for an alternative date. Please see our Cancellation Policy for full details.
Do you have lockers?
No. Unfortunatley we do not have lockers at the centre. We reccommend that you lock any valubales with you in the car - we can look after the keys at reception at your request.
How old do you have to be to take part in activities?
The following age restrictions apply to our activities.
The Aqua Park: All participants must be at least 8 years and 1.1m tall. We strongly recommend that those aged 8-11 years are accompanied by an adult at a ratio of 1 adult to 3 children.
Wakeboarding and Waterskiing: All participants must be at least 8 years.
Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) and Kayaking: All participants must be at least 8 years, however we reccommend that all SUP beginners purchase a lesson with us before hiring a board.
Boat Inflatables: All participants must be at least 10 years.
Do I have to wear a buoyancy aid?
Yes, all persons entering the lake must wear a buoyancy aid at all times. Failure to do so will result in termination of the activitiy session.
Do I have to wear a wetsuit?
Wetsuits are not compulsory, but are reccommended during periods of colder water temperatures. If you aren't sure, speak to one of our experienced memebers of staff!
What do I need to bring with me?
Just your swimming gear and a towel! Wetsuits are avilable for hire and buoyancy aids are provided free-of-charge. You are welcome to use your own wetsuits, however we do ask that you use our buoyancy aids.
What do I wear on my feet?
We ask that soled wetsuit shoes are not worn on our equipment. We suggest participants go bare footed, or wear wetsuit socks if necessary.
Are there fish in the lake?
Yes, there are friendly fish in the lake!
Do you have changing rooms?
Yes, we have changing and shower facilties on site for all participating customers.
Do I have to be able to swim to take part in activities?
Yes. We ask that participants of all activies are able to swim 50m aided with a buoyancy aid. Please note that those going on our Aqua Park will have to swim approximatley this distance in order to gain access.
What equipment do I need?
We have everything available for hire on site including wakeboards, skis, kayaks, SUPS, wetsuits, helmets and buoyancy aids.
What happens if I turn up late?
We will try our best to get you on the water if you're late, however we cannot be held responsible for late arrivals and missed sessions. Please allow plenty of time to arrive at the centre. We ask that all participants arrive at least 30 minutes prior to their session start time.
How long do I need to arrive prior to my session start time?
We ask that participants arrive 30 minutes prior to all activity start times.
Can I bring my own Kayak or SUP?
Yes. You can launch your kayak or SUP for a fee of £20 per craft for 3 hours. Please see our Pricelist for full details.
Do I get instruction with Kayak and SUP hire?
If you opt to just hire Kayaks or SUPs, then you are on your own. There is no tuition included. We will always make you aware of the restricted areas on the lake though - please pay attention to this!
Am I allowed anywhere on the lake in Kayaks and SUPs?
No. All persons on Kayaks and SUPs should ensure that they remain with ... m of the perimeter of the lake during times when the power boat is in service.
Can I walk around the lake?
No, unfortunatley you cannot walk around the lake.
Do you serve alcohol in the Cafe?
Yes, we have a fully licensed cafe on site serving a variety of alcoholic beverages.
Do you have disabled access?
Yes, we have disabled access to our main clubhouse, cafe and waterside decking areas. If you need any assistance, please inform a member of staff, we'd be happy to help.
Can I bring a picnic?
Unfortunatley we do not allow for food or drink to be bought onsite. We have fully licensed cafe/bar. We do allow birthday cakes for parties - we just ask you clean up the mess!
Are dogs allowed on site?
Unfortunately we do not allow dogs on site.
